Morgan Smith grew up in the Abingdon/Damascus area of Virginia. Dad made sure that both his boys had plenty of exposure to the outdoors and was an avid outdoorsman himself. Through this, Morgan developed a love for hunting. Growing up, he hunted all kinds of game, rabbits, raccoons, groundhogs, and even the occasional bullfrog. The primary focus, however, was southern whitetail in the Appalachian Mountains of Virginia. Later on, Morgan's family took an interest in upland bird hunting and fell in love with the sport. That passion is what eventually lead to the beginning on Western Lakes Outdoors. Morgan is now married to Maryanna and has two boys and a girl of his own. He looks forward to seeing sharing the tradition with his own kids as they grow up.
